Stairlift FAQs feed

Below are some of our Frequently Asked Questions regarding Stairlifts.  If you require further help or assistance please call us on 0800 046 3949.

Q: What happens if there is a power failure?

A: The built in battery system ensure that the Stair Lift keeps operating even when mains power fails.

Q: Will I need to redecorate when my Stair Lift is installed.

A: No, the Stair Lift is fitted to your staircase not the wall so no need to worry about having to redecorate.

Q: I have trouble bending my knees, is a Stair Lift still an option for me?

A: Yes - the Perch Stair Lift is ideal.  Or for homes with more than one user the Sit/Stand model offers flexibility.

Q: What is the maximum weight a Stair Lift can take?

A: Standard models allow up to 20 stone, for weights up to 25 stone we can still offer a solution

Q: How much does a Stair Lift cost?

A: As you can easily imagine each installation is unique, dependant on your home and your requirements.  Stair Lifts start from £1,595 for straight and £4,250 for curved.  Our experienced surveyors will give you a no obligation free survey and detailed quote before work starts.

Q: I need a Stair Lift installed immediately - is that possible?

A: Yes - we can sometimes install next day, the actual installation process normally takes around an hour, although curved installation can take a bit longer.

Q:  If I arrange for a survey, will I get the hard sell?

A:  No.  Our survey is completely free and without any obligation to buy. Our surveyor will only come round if you specifically request it, allowing you to tell them about your individual requirements in the comfort of your home.  Our Surveyor can then accurately measure your stairs and assess your specific needs. Once your staircase has been surveyed, you will be given your own free, fixed written quotation. It is then entirely your decision - in your own time - whether to buy or not.

Q: What happens if something goes wrong with my Stair Lift?

A: Our engineers are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and our Stair Lifts come with a fully comprehensive warranty for 12 months and you can extend the warranty further for peace of mind.
