The Times/Sternberg Active Life Award

Nominate a selfless over-70 for this worthwhile award

Each year The Times seeks to honour significant contributions made to society by over-70s.  The Times/Sternberg Active Life Award brings £5,000 for the winner and £1,000 each for 5 runners-up.

For this award people must be nominated – they cannot enter themselves.  We spotted this at the bottom of a page in The Times and thought it deserved a bit more publicity.  We encounter so many amazing people who are working in caring services, working for charities helping people with arthritis, parkinson’s or strokes or carers looking after loved ones with dementia with very little external support. As a business More Than Mobility support’s Contact the elderly and our team are regular drivers and hosts for this great charity, some of our volunteers are as old as our Sunday Tea guests!  Strikes us that you may also know some fantastic over-70s who deserve to be nominated.  Even if they do not win the fact that someone has taken the time to nominate them will be hugely appreciated.

The deadline to nominate someone is November 1st at 5pm.

Extract from Times website: Some articles may quote an earlier deadline but apparently there were some technical issue so the deadline has now been extended.  All information regarding The Times/Sternberg Active Life Award 2013 is now Live on the following (free) website: www.thetimes.co.uk/activelifeaward and the application process is open.  While there is no formal nomination sheet, please be sure to include all the details we request, as listed in the article linked above.
